Clive Cussler’s The Wrecker

by Britt Hellman

The second book in a new Western series by Clive Cussler, “one of the greatest adventure novelists of our time” (imdb), The Wrecker represents the continuation of Cussler’s entry into the classic American genre of Wild West fiction. Who knows, maybe it will turn into his most popular series yet.

A detective by the name of Isaac Bell represents the main character in The Wrecker. Bell is as athletic and fearless as James Bond and as intellectually brilliant as Sherlock Holmes.

Terry Pratchett’s Unseen Academicals

by Britt Hellman

Best-selling author Terry Pratchett’s most recent (2009) novel Unseen Academicals is a satire on the phenomenon of European football (soccer), plus a number of other social activities that often go along with it. For that reason, the book may have a greater appeal to a UK audience than in America; especially since one of the main themes is football hooliganism, a distinct UK phenomenon.

But this novel is really about a much wider array of human follies and foibles than just football; most of which are universal, American as much as European. Other themes in the book include goblins and orcs, pies of every conceivable (and inconceivable) variety; as well as fashion supermodels and their excessive adulation by the public.

Online retail giant, Amazon, was founded in 1994 by Jeff Bezos and the original Amazon website launched in 1995. Today Amazon is an extremely successful business and one of the best recognised and most trusted brands on the planet. It’s easy to forget what an unusual concept ordering books online and having them shipped by mail was at the time. There were plenty investors and business analysts who predicted that Amazon would have a difficult time of it - and indeed it took until the end of 2001 before Amazon were able to report their first profit.

Free Full Length Desperate Housewives Movies

by Josh Coxx

The Desperate Housewives TV show is the one of the best things to be made and shown during prime time in a number of years. The show is about the life of a number of suburban women who come across as cheerful and innocent but hide secrets behind their closed doors. The series many believe was inspired by the 1999 movie American Beauty.

One thing so unique about the desperate housewives show is that the humor of the show is very witty and dark and this is different from that of the other shows. The show revolves around the day to day life of four women who live in wisteria lane which is situated in the place called Fairview in the Eagle state; all of these places are imaginary.
